Feeding Program
Open Eyes loves to partner with the local churches to support their God given vision. In 2014, we started supporting one of the local churches with a Feeding Program located in one of the most conflicted neighborhoods in Comayagua, Honduras.
James says…
“What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.”

The heart of our feeding program is simple: meet physical needs to open the door for spiritual transformation.
Each weekday, Monday through Friday, we provide a hot, nutritious lunch to 135 children. For many of them, this may be the only meal they receive that day. It’s a need we feel deeply called to meet—and one we are committed to continuing.
Beyond the meal itself, this program allows us to build lasting relationships with the children, disciple them in their faith, and connect them to the local church. In turn, we’re able to reach their families, share the love of Christ, and plant seeds of hope throughout the community.
Currently, we are able to sustain this program with just $850 per month.
Our vision is to expand—to open more feeding centers and extend this blessing to many more children and families across Honduras.
